AN array of oddly-shaped boats were seen competing in a series of boat races on the River Stour at the weekend.
The Bures Coracle Regatta saw people of all ages taking part in six races throughout last Saturday, while others who came along to watch were also encouraged to give the light-weight oval boats a try.
Organised by the River Stour Trust, the event is now in its sixth year and once again proved hugely popular.
Event organiser Helen Richardson said: “Everything went really well and we had a lovely day.
“Lots of people got a chance to have a go and they thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Mrs Richardson added that the main reason behind the regatta was to get people on the water and having a good time.
“Once this happens, they realise how special it is and want to protect it,” she said.
“There was a great atmosphere and I love the spirit of this event.”
