MORE than 800 youngsters from across the region will descend upon Sudbury for a football tournament to raise funds for grassroots football.
Players from Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex will take part in the two-day event held at AFC Sudbury’s MEL Group Stadium next weekend.
Ben Davies, AFC Grassroots vice-chairman, said: “This will be our biggest tournament to date and it should be a fantastic weekend.
“All proceeds will go towards AFC Grassroots, which encourages young people to be fit and healthy through playing football.”
Around 120 teams will take part in the tournament, with age groups ranging from under-sevens to under-16s.
In August, the stadium will also play host to another big event when the Harley Davidson Riders Club of Great Britain meet at the ground, displaying £3million of motorcycles.

The Harley Davidson event is being held on August 13 and 14, and will see riders drive through Sudbury and the surrounding villages.
