Playgroup staff have voiced their huge pride, after receiving their third consecutive outstanding rating from regulatory body Ofsted.

Acton Playgroup, based at the village’s primary school in Lambert Drive, earned the top grade in its latest report, with inspectors praising the effectiveness of teaching, the strong partnerships with parents and the positive outcomes for the children.

Kim Farley, manager of Acton Playgroup, told the Free Press: “We are all incredibly proud. Between us, we have 80 years of childcare experience, which goes a long way.

“The key for us is being a reflective practice and continuing to look at moving forward. We listen to parents’ feedback and then adapt and make changes to the practice.

“It’s hard work, but I have an amazing, dedicated team. The environment makes happy and confident children, who are ready for the move to primary school with no worries at all.”
