Acton and Waldingfield Scouts help clean up River Stour with impromptu litter pick

Youngsters thought on their feet when they took part in an impromptu litter pick during a canoeing trip.

Members of the 1st Acton and Waldingfield Scouts filled up their canoes with various discarded objects found dumped in the River Stour while taking part in a summer group activity.

Scout leader Sue Ruth praised the efforts of the group for using their initiative.

"When we got back, we were amazed by how much they had collected," she said.

“They’re a good bunch of children. They came up with the idea by themselves. They had fun and were so proud of themselves.”
