TWO people were rescued from the wreckage of a three-car crash.

Emergency services were called to the collision, which took place on the A134 between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds, near the Cockfield junction, at 5pm on Wednesday.

Fire crews from Sudbury and Long Melford used cutting equipment to help free the two people, who were not seriously injured.

The road was closed in both directions as the emergency services made the scene safe.
