A series of Christmas events in Lavenham will be united to form a festive three-day extravaganza.
The village’s Christmas Street Fair, Lighting Up Ceremony and Salvation Army Festival have been brought together for the first time to be staged next month. An array of seasonal entertainment and activities will be taking place.
Lesley Thompson, a member of the street fair committee who is helping arrange the festival, said she believed incorporating the events would result in a better Christmas atmosphere.
“We wanted to make it a big village festival and for everyone to be involved together,” she said.
“There should be a very festive feel.”
During the festivities, which will run from December 7 to 9, there will be a chance to meet Father Christmas, take a guided lantern tour of the village and enjoy Christmas carols.
A wide range of craft and food stall will also be operating and a Christmas Tree Festival taking place.
“We have put in a lot of hard work and hope it will be everything we imagine,” said Mrs Thompson, who revealed the committee had been working on the plans since the summer.
The village’s Christmas lights will be switched on by a mystery guest at 6pm on December 7 in Market Place.
