Pupils at Great Cornard Middle School will be among those attempting to break an unusual world record this weekend.
To coincide with the Wells Hall Road school’s 40th anniversary – it shuts this summer – children, teachers and parents are joining forces to try to break the record for the most people wearing woolly bobble hats in one place on Saturday.
The attempt will take place during the school’s “ruby extravaganza”, which will include bouncy castles and a hog roast.
“It has been a countdown for the last month and it is going to be a big celebratory event,” said school governor Gill Smith.
The current woolly hat wearing record stands at 764 and Mrs Smith said more hats were still needed for the event, which runs from 2pm to 5pm.
