Children at Tudor Primary School have been swept to the heart of Africa by the story telling of Teddy Akorfi.
The author, from Ghana, talked to pupils and read stories about his homeland, as part of the school's Africa week.
Some children dressed in traditional African clothes while others took turns on the popular djembe drums.
The idea for Africa week came following teacher Helen Appleton's trip there last year.
Children also learned about animals and the geography on the continent.
"It has been a fantastic week and all the children seemed to have really enjoyed themselves," said Helen.
Meanwhile, the school is close to getting Fairtrade status.
Fairtrade reps Rhys Piggott and Jessica Howe have written to Blue Peter to push the school's credentials.
Staff are making sure all food and products used at the school are Fairtrade.
