Sudbury's retained firefighters put their hoses to good use on Saturday.
They washed 80 cars, raising £620 for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, which helps injured firefighters and their families.

Firefighter Mircea Rogojan-Rush said: "We even had some people come in who said 'we don't have a car, but we would like to give some money anyway'."

JD Wetherspoon provided a free meal and drink at the end of the day for all the volunteers, and Halfords donated equipment.
