Staff at an award-winning Sudbury firm were today honoured with a visit from The Princess Royal.
The princess spent more than an hour at quilted jacket and horse rug manufacturer Lavenham Leisure, formally presenting the company with the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

The top honour, recognising British companies that have excelled internationally, was handed to managing director Nicky Santomauro in front of cheering staff and town dignitaries.

Mrs Santomauro said: "This is a fantastic recognition of the company, but more importantly the dedicated staff that work here who have turned this company into an award-winning business."

This is the second Queen's Award the company has won, based on its outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation and sustainable development.

For the full story on the royal visit and how Lavenham Leisure has grown from rags to international fortune see Thursday's Free Press.
