Sudbury started strongly with good play down the wings from Liz Spencer and player-of-the-match Tracy Caddock linking the midfield and forwards.
Sudbury kept the pressure on and it wasn't long before Vicky Haylock drove into the D, with a quick pass to Debbie King, and Sudbury were 1-0 up.

Ipswich came back stronger but Sudbury defended well with Alison Alecock and Jenny Brown holding the midfield well.

A back four of Lou Palmer, Emma Stephens, Louise Bonner and Lynn Beardsall held off Ipswich and at half-time Sudbury were 1-0 up.

Sudbury added their second goal courtesy of King. Ipswich came back strongly but were held up by Amanda Mills in the middle.

However, Ipswich managed to break through the Sudbury defence and pull a goal back.

A goal that would have been King's hat-trick was disallowed.
Saves from Elaine Denholm saw Sudbury hold on in the face of a number of short corners to win 2-1.
