Sudbury see off reigning champions while Halstead enjoy big win

THE Talbots have climbed up to mid-table in the East Anglian Premier League after a fantastic 72-run win over current holders Cambridge Granta.

The victory at Friars Street on Saturday saw Ben Reece take six wickets as Sudbury bowled Granta out for 98, after the home side had posted 170 from 47.5 overs.

The pick of the batsmen for Sudbury was overseas Sri Lankan star Hasantha Fernando with 65.

Next up for the Talbots is a trip to Clacton on Saturday (11.30am).

•Meanwhile Halstead also had a great weekend, beating hosts Burwell by six wickets, with Matthew Surry hitting a half century to take the Star Stile outfit over the winning line, having racked up 141 runs.
