Tinned bait still a problem

THE River Stour along Pecks Meadow and the Priory is fishing well, especially for silver fish, reports Sudbury and Melford District Angling Club.

Rudd up to 14 ounces have been reported, and a bream of 6lb 12oz was caught at Wrights.

Bailiffs are still finding discarded sweetcorn tins and their sharp lids on the banks.

Tinned baits are not allowed and any offenders will be asked to pack up.

Juniors have been spotted fishing directly off the Mill Hotel wall despite there being signs stating that this is not allowed.

Juniors under 12 years of age must be supervised by an adult on Sudbury Common Lands and other areas that are mentioned on the club cards.
