Halstead and District Motorcycle Club’s GH Motorcycles and G&B Finch-sponsored Wednesday evening motocross meeting had a health entry of more than 80 riders across expert and juniors.
The event started with quick four-lap dashes to qualify for the semi-finals.
In heat one, there was a win for schoolboy star Alfie Smith, while heat two was won by local boy Jason Morland.
Syd Bales and South African rider Neville Bradshaw had a close race in heat three, with Bales victorious by just 0.1.171 seconds.
In heat four, Halstead club rider Brad Tomlin took the win.
The first semi-final resulted in a win for another South African, Brad Woodroffe, with a trio of Halstead club riders in second, third and fourth places in Chris Bastick, Brendon Mayers and Jason Morland respectively.
In the second semi-final, Bradshaw had his revenge over Bales with the win.
In the grand final, it was neck-and-neck for all 10 laps, with Bradshaw taking the win by 4.190 seconds from Bales while Smith took third place.
In the consolation final – for riders not making the grand final – there was a win for Daniel Patterson, with Halstead rider Mark Relland taking a brilliant second place.
