EAST WOMEN’S LEAGUE

DIVISON ONE SOUTH

Sudbury 0 Chelmsford 2

A SPIRITED Sudbury were very unlucky with the final score against a side who lead the early table.

Sudbury, buoyed from last week’s win, started off strongly passing wide and showing promising movement down the wings by Daisy Palmer and Ami Humphreys.

With Sudbury having most of the possession we created many chances with Humphreys having two strikes on goal, unfortunately both just missing on the far post.

Chelmsford then pressed forward to attack which resulted in a penalty corner, which was scored.

After the half-time team talk and being 1-0 down, Sudbury became slow to react on the ball and conceded another goal from a penalty flick. Sudbury then pushed up leaving three in defence to try and get a goal back. This led to some strong runs down the wing from Collette Cottrell and Abbi Taylor, which put great pressure on the defence, but they were unable to force a goal.

Player of the match: Hayley Spooner.
