Squash: Gilham sees off rivals to claim over 75s crown

MALCOLM Gilham has won the WSF World Masters Squash Championship title in the over 75s category.

The Assignton-based player has declared his victory in Cologne as his "pinnacle" achievement in the sport.

The number one seed beat fellow Englishman Raymond Rook 11-6 11-2 11-7 in the final of the competition.

Gilham was a county-level tennis player before he switched to playing squash at the age of 42, which he plays at Earls Colne and Lexden.

The Free Press reported last year how Gilham had been crowned a world champion for the first time at the age of 75.
