Rewarding river fishing

WITH the new river season just started Sudbury & Melford District Angling Association can offer some rewarding river fishing.

Pecks Meadow, the Priory and Friars Meadow are famous for early season tench and bream catches.

With a bit of colour from the recent heavy rain some good roach up to 11lb can be expected too.

All river sections can be fished on a day ticket.

At the club’s new stillwater at Boxford, rudd and small carp and a few small tench have been caught.

An 8lb tench has been caught at Rushbrook Farm Lake and a few good bags of bream have been reported.

Day tickets for the river are 5 for senior and 3 for juniors. Night fishing is allowed but anglers are reminded that bivvies are not allowed on Sudbury Common Lands.
