Latest news from Ipswich Town Independent Supporters
I want to start by saying although we at ITISC all agree that Norris's goal celebrations at Blackpool were naïve by the player, we feel that certain sections of the media went way over the top.
We hope this is now all chip paper news.
On the field, Town were making progress until they came unstuck at bottom-of-the-table Doncaster Rovers. I feel that although certain players played below par, this has to be forgotten and put down as a bad day at the office.
My only concern at the moment is the selection of Lisbie ahead of Stead and Counago and again some of the substitutions made by Jim. Back to the Doncaster game, I feel that Stead and Counago, on from the start (and Ambrose, in many people's minds) would have taken the fight to Doncaster and that three points would have been assured.
After Saturday's excellent home win over Derby, we have Birmingham away coming up and I would be happy if Town get at least four points from these two very tough games.
Off the field ITISC are putting together a great event in March which all Town fans do not want to miss. Confirmation of this will be in next month's column so be sure to watch this space. It promises to be a great night.
The local derby is approaching and on paper this should be an win for the Super Blues, but form goes out of the window on derby day and it normally ends up a tight affair. Next month we will feature this game in more detail.
Our president, Kevin Beattie shaved his tache off for Children in Need live on Radio Suffolk, so a big hand to him for that. At the time of writing this, he had raised 110.
Talking of our president, he has had a record made after him by Town fan Asa Jennings.
Asa said: "The song is basically about how we were a force and The Beat was our greatest ever player, and how we're striving to get back to those days again."
