Joshua is this year’s champ

JOSHUA Mumford is this year’s Suffolk Closed Eights and Under tennis champion.

He took the title at Ipswich Sports Club last week, defeating Archie Simpson in the semi-final and Toby Dean in the final.

The seven-year-old lives in Long Melford and attends Long Melford Primary School.

He is a member of Lavenham Lawn Tennis Club, where his father and grandfather are also members.

Josh has regular individual coaching at Lavenham and at Ipswich Sports Club, where he also attends squad coaching sessions twice a week.

The title topped a fantastic month for Joshua who also won the Haverhill Mini Red Tournament and finished runner-up in his age group to Norfolk’s Ethan Terry in the prestigious Felixstowe Open.
