Jamie Moul bags European Tour money

STOKE-BY-NAYLAND’S Jamie Moul bagged €3,188.46 prize money in the Qatar Masters after finishing in 69th position.

The 27-year-old player ends a stint out in the middle east on the European Tour at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic by teeing off alongside other Englishman Tommy Feeltwood and Welshman Phillip Price at 8.30am GMT this morning.

Rounds of 77, 66 and 74 left him one over par in last week’s Commercialbank Qatar Masters Presented By Dolphin Energy, but was not good enough to make the cut for the final fourth round.

It was the 298th Official World Golfing Rankings player’s second best finish on the European Tour in his debut season, having finished 62nd in the Africa Open, his first event on the tour last month.

Moul will be lining up alongside world number two Rory McIlroy, world number three Lee Westwood and world number four Martin Kaymer at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

Colchester-based Moul’s only major tournament win to date came in the European Tour’s development tour, the Challenge Tour in the Acaya Open in Italy last season, a win which helped him break into the elit men’s tour courtesy of finishing in the top 10.
