Halstead lords of the ring

Halstead Boxing Club's new competive ring

BOXERS in Halstead are pleased as punch with their new facilities.

Halstead Boxing Club was awarded £4,450 to buy a competitive boxing ring, now in place at its new gym in Factory Lane West.

Club secretary Chris Hague said: “The new boxing ring and non-slip flooring looks superb and has enabled us to cope with up to three age-range groups with up to 50 students at the same time – meaning more than 150 per cent growth and something that was not possible before.”

The money came from a community fund run by Greenfields Community Housing.
