SUDBURY Rowing Club members took to the water in Christmas hats and even a Father Christmas outfit, to row their annual 350m sprint for the prizes of Christmas pudding.

All the members of all ages came together to compete against one another.

There were veterans, adults and juniors dressed with hats, and the Christmas spirit was in the air.

The members were split into two teams: Team Awesome and Team Best, and raced eights; quads; doubles and singles.

Every race was close as each team powered it to the finish, past supporters and family members.

Both teams worked hard, but Team Awesome came out on top, winning all of their races.

After all the excitement, members joined together for Christmas cakes and mulled wine.

The club’s press officer, Holly Adams, said: “It was a cheerful and fun morning, and from all of Sudbury Rowing Club we would like to wish all of the Suffolk Free Press readers a very merry Christmas and look forward to welcoming new members in the New Year.”
