Fabian Wilnis is coming to town

May I start by wishing you all a Happy 2009 and let's hope it sees Town gain a play off place and possible promotion.

At the moment it feels like being in the January Sales as everyone is trying to get that ticket for the FA Cup game at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

My phone has been red hot with people asking if I can help them!

I'm looking forward to the game and being in the ground with the Ipswich masses – which appear to be the biggest travelling support since 10,000 filled one section of the San Siro. I just hope Town don't let us and themselves down on the day and hope can score one goal!!

Away from the cup, Town need to quickly get on a winning run as the gap between them and the play offs is getting bigger every week. Next month I will do a piece on the Chelsea Cup Shock (well I can dream can't I).

FABIAN WILNIS IS COMING TO TOWN: Ipswich Town fans favourite, Fabian Wilnis is coming to Haverhill. Yes it's true and it's all happening on Sunday 8th March 2009 at the Rose Tavern PH starting at 7pm.

The reason for his visit is to promote his Testimonial Season plus he wants to meet as many Ipswich Town supporters as possible before saying his final farewell. The evening will consist of a bumper raffle and auction to raise funds for Fabian's Testimonial fund. Already big names such as Sir Bobby Robson, Ian Poulter, Razor Ruddock, and Carol Vorderman have pledged signed items for the auction so if you are an autograph hunter you do not want to miss out either.

Fabian will also do a Question & Answer session as well and then the evening will end with some special presentations to celebrate his Testimonial followed by live music from Asa Jennings, who is a superb up and coming artist. On the night there will be a souvenir programme for everyone free of charge, plus at the time of writing it is hoped some special guests may attend as well, so all in all it promises to be a great night and one not to be missed.

The evening is open to all Town fans both in Haverhill and the surrounding areas, both young and old.

It is also hoped that some special guests will appear, one being Max Rushdon of Soccer Am – to be confirmed next month, so watch this space...

If you require any more information on this event, please feel free to contact me on itfc@fsmail.net.

Look forward to seeing you all on March 8th when you can say goodbye to Fabian and thank him for all that he did whilst wearing the blue shirt of ITFC!
