MAKING THE GRADE: The students of Blue Dragon Freestyle Kickboxing Academy

BLUE Dragon Freestyle Kickboxing Academy held a grading session at Sudbury Boxing Club.

Selected students were put through their paces by head instructor James Blezard and junior instructor Connor Blezard.

They were graded on fitness, kicks, punches, self defence, nunchaku (weapon), knife defences, forms and sparring.

The two students going for brown belt endured a five-hour grading including four-on-one knife defence.

Head instructor James Blezard said he was very pleased with the level of skill demonstrated which showed their hard work had paid off.

Yellow belt – Lucy Pink; orange – Keiran May and Dan Tourle; blue – Mark Lawson, Madison Boydell and Luke Stannard; purple – Reece Bird; red – Jack Fletcher and Elliott Gower; brown – Stella Blezard and Tristan Gower.

n Blue Dragon Freestyle Kickboxing Club train at Pot Kiln School on Tuesdays, 5.30 to 6.30pm (6-10 years old) and 6.30 to 8pm seniors.
