Polstead Heath’s Essex bowling star Reece Topley was named in a 16-man England Performance Programme (EPP) by the England Cricket Board this week.

The left-arm paceman, who started out playing for Hadleigh, will train with the England development squad at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough before flying to Australia for a month for two three-day matches and training camps on November 14.

Meanwhile, former Sudbury Cricket Club player Nick Compton, who played twice for the Talbots in 2001, was left out of England’s Ashes squad to tour Australia on Monday.
