Twelve-year-old Jared Evans receives his black belt from Stoke-by-Nayland Shotokan Karate Club senior instructor Sensei Peter Heal. Evans is the youngest-ever student at the club to achieve a 1st Dan qualification.

He started training at the age of seven and his determination and hard training enabled him to successfully pass the grading examination in Guildford, judged by the head of the KUGB, Sensei Andy Sherry 9th Dan and Sensei Billy Higgins 7th Dan.
