Halstead and District Motor Cycle Club’s motocross riders achieved very good results at meetings throughout the season at International, National and Eastern Centre meetings, with Lewis Tombs taking points in the World MX2 Championships.

After the seven round series, Tombs finished in ninth place overall in the Maxxis British MX2 Championships, the highest overall was round two at Milton Park, where he was seventh.

In the Red Bull Pro Nationals, Pro MX2 Class, Tombs finished in a brilliant fourth place after the seven round series, his highest overall round being round three and round five at Canada Heights, with fifth at both meetings.

In the Wulfsport British Masters six round series, Battery Energy Pro MX2 Class, Tombs took 11th place. Highest overall was achieved in round four, with fourth place.

Moving on to Eastern Centre meetings, in the Bickers Lifting Eastern Centre Championships (Experts), it was touch and go for third place in round six, between Brad Tomlin and Jason Morland.

Third place went to Tomlin by a 10-point advantage over Morland, who took fourth spot.

Chris Bastick took eighth place, with a further seven club riders in the points table.

For the Juniors, highest placed was Mark Sharman, with Harry Mills ninth.

In the NGR Championship, John Hinz was highest placed overall.

GH M/CS G&B Finch Midweek MX Championship, Chris Bastick finished as champion, Brad Tomlin was second, Lewis Tombs third, with Jason Morland fourth (Experts).

Highest placed Junior was Mark Sharman.

As well as riding at motocross meetings, Jason Morland, Brendon Mayers, Alex and Tony Claydon have been in the results at Enduro meetings.
