Halstead Road Runners’ chairman Keith Thorogood and marathon guru Andy Wilmot completed the Cambridge boundary run in cold and windy conditions.

Thorogood stopped the clock in five hours 21 minutes, while Wilmot completed his 595th marathon in 4.55.

Andy Carter, Wendy Carter and Lorraine Garnham travelled to the South coast for the Steyning Stinger.

All three completed the half marathon distance, which measured an extended 13.5 miles.

Andy Carter recorded one hour 58 minutes 59 seconds, while Wendy Carter and Garnham crossed the line together in 2.29.10.

The course was extremely muddy due to the heavy rain over the last months and on the open hills of the South Downs they had a very strong wind to contend with.

Matthew Ranson made the short trip to Great Cornard for the inaugural Great Cornard Parkrun.

In a friendly field of 65, Ranson stopped the clock in 22 minutes 10 seconds.

This is part of a national 5k public running event, which take place weekly on Saturdays at 9am — events are free to enter and volunteers are always welcomed.
