Billy Bird was left in dreamland after tasting title success for the first time by being crowned light middle-weight British Masters Champion.

The former Sudbury Boxing Club member overcame Leicestershire-based 31-year-old Simon Henry with a fifth round stoppage in front of a capacity crowd at Norwich’s St Andrew’s Hall.

And after being presented with his belt by sparring partner and Olympic Bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo, an elated ‘Billy Boy’ hailed his supporting cast and set his sights on future success.
