Sudbury III 12 IES III 0
Sudbury Ladies III extended their goal difference quite significantly with 12 unanswered strikes on IES III’s new pitches at Rushmere.
The movement on-and-off the ball in and around the attacking D was intuitive, creative and united.
It was a delight to have so many names on the scoresheet with Emma Clarke starting the roll with a convincing shot from a short corner.
Clarke scored a goal in both halves and was joined by hat-trick wonder Georgina Spicer and Jessica Franks (two).
There were single goals from Olivia Greaves, Tracey Clarke, a first for youngster Daisy Partridge, Becky Younger and Stacey Howlett.
n Sudbury II did not have such luck in front of goal against IES II at the same venue, as they went down to a 1-0 defeat in their Premier League mid-table clash.
The opposition’s skill and experience was evident from the start, but Sudbury’s defence worked tirelessly to keep IES out of the D.
The only goal of the game came shortly before the half-time whistle as the hosts converted a short corner.
Sudbury’s desire to win came only in the second half of the game, demonstrating some fantastic teamwork with good support and communication they showed improvement on previous games, but it was too little too late to come away with any points.
