There were 13 medals shared between the three Sudbury Swimming Club masters swimmers who travelled to Swansea’s national pool to compete in the British Gas Masters and Seniors Long Course Championships.
Sarah Clarke, competing in her very first long course championships, swam exceptionally well in a very busy weekend, swimming in seven events from 50-metre breastroke to a 400m individual medley (IM).
She came away with two medals, in 200m breastroke and the 400IM.
Terry Mansi swam all the freestyle events from 50m to 1,500m and had a good weekend, taking seconds off each of his swims.
He medalled in five of his events, winning two silvers and three bronze medals.
Stuart McLellan also swam in six events over the weekend, all over 200m.
He won five golds and one silver medal, and like Mansi, he had some season best times in all his events.
McLellan also achieved the East Region record for the 200m backstroke in his age group.
There were two other Sudbury masters swimming over the same weekend of June 14.
Gordon Coutts swam the Great Swim at Lake Windermere, finshing the two-mile event in third place with a time of 49 minutes 51 seconds.
Graham King competed at the Claction Round the Pier event where he finished in a time of 22.11.
