With no Super League fixture scheduled, several Sudbury Town darts players took part in the Suffolk qualifying round of the British Gold Cup.

Martin Totman had the most success, enjoying a fine run to the semi-final with wins over Graham Peck, Ben Poulton, Jason Mold and Lee Newson - before going down in a deciding leg to Leiston’s Arron Fairweather.

Toby Edwards went out in the last 32 to Steve Burton, while after wins over Peter Squirrell and Andrew Dearing, Ian Randles was beaten by Steve Turner in the last 16.

Smock’s Wayne Hammond went on to beat Fairweather in the final and goes on to represent Suffolk in the national finals at Lakeside Country Club.

n Tyler Ackers was a winner on his debut for the Suffolk County Youth team in their 8-7 defeat at Hertfordshire at the weekend.

Tyler, who also plays for Northcroft Social Club in the Monday Border Darts League, won his game 2-0 with a 19.27 average.
