It is as you were at the top of the Sudbury and District Snooker League, after the top two teams were beaten.

Leaders Lavenham Legion B lost 3-2 at Earls Colne A.

Matt Cooney put the home team one up before Mike Hazell levelled the scores for the Legion.

Wins by Luke Heard and Dave Stuart, who inflicted a first defeat of the season on Dave Mortier, put Colne into a 3-1 lead before Gary Hill won the final frame for the leaders with a hard-fought win over James Monk.

Earls Colne B trail the Legion by two points after they suffered a first defeat at Lavenham Legion A.

Colne B captain, Andy Shelton, was heavily beaten by John Goodchild in his first frame of the evening before losing the deciding frame of the night on the black to Paul Garrard.

Aiden Kench kept up his unbeaten record this season with a win over the Legion’s Mark Delves.

Sudbury Snooker Club A continued their good run with a 4-1 away win at Sible Hedingham. There were two further wins in this match for Jon Tatum, who is enjoying a fine personal season so far.

Melford Working Men’s C are also continuing their good run of form since being whitewashed in their opening two matches.

S Club 47 picked up only their second win of the season last week, but continue to find themselves at the bottom of the table.
