Eleven times British sidecar champion Stuart Brown, with passenger Josh Chamberlain, scored a hat-trick of wins at Wakes Colne on Sunday.

Round six of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championship, contested by 24 crews and 93 supporting riders, saw Brown and Chamberlain run out overall winners on the day.

This was the final Halstead and District Motorcycle Club meeting of the season, and the track was in perfect condition.

In the supporting solos, Halstead Club’s Expert rider, Brad Tomlin, took overall in Group A, with two wins and a second place.

The next best Halstead rider was another Expert, Brendon Mayers, who took fifth overall, with Glen Bixby 10th.

Tom Cress had a good day in Group B, with fourth overall.

The winner of the competition organised by the Suffolk Free Press for tickets to attend the meeting, was Mr Wilson, who came with his son, Lewis.

During the lunch break, there was a surprise presentation to Lewis, of an MX helmet.

Halstead Club are grateful to the family of the late Brian Game – a sidecar rider in the 1980s – who sponsored the sidecar races.
