SUDBURY’S ten-pin bowling centre, Strikes, witnessed its first-ever perfect 300 game, bowled by 17-year-old Miles Corney from Leigh on Sea.
Sudbury King of the Hill tournaments are held at the centre every other month. At every one this year the scores have been getting higher and higher with over 100 games being bowled as 200+ scores.
The previous record of 279 was held by local bowler Nik Parry for 17 years. For Corney it was his third 300 game but this was Sudbury’s one and only. Tournament manager Ria Gardiner said she has been overwhelmed by all the support from all the bowlers who enter these tournaments on a regular basis with some people travelling for 2-3 hours to get to the event.
Sudbury Strikes Tournaments are looking for any local businesses that would like to sponsor the King of the Hill tournaments next year.
