Nayland were the winners of the Sainsbury’s School Games under-11 Tag Rugby Tournament at Ormiston Sudbury Academy, beating Boxford in the final.
Nayland will represent the area in the county finals in April.
There was a record-breaking entry of 10 primary schools.
The round-robin tournament, with two groups, saw some excellent tag rugby.
Long Melford and Great Waldingfield primary schools finished second in their respective groups so played against each other for the bronze medal. It proved to be close, Long Melford winning with an injury-time try.
Nayland and Boxford battled it out for gold and silver. The quality of rugby was excellent, Nayland proving just too strong, winning by a single try.
