SUDBURY Rugby Club slumped to a sixth successive defeat, going down 27-14 at bottom of the table Campion on Saturday, the home side ending a run of seven straight London League 3NE losses.

Sudbury have no game this weekend as the league takes a break for cup competitions, and then face three games in December, at home to South Woodham Ferrers on December 3, away to East London a week later, and then home to Stowmarket on December 17.

Sudbury, who won their first three games of the season, lie ninth in the table. The 45-14 defeat at Norwich apart, none of the other losses have been heavy.

Club chairman Mike Beckett said Saturday’s defeat at Campion was “disappointing to say the least.”

“The guys are going to have to step up and learn from the losses. We have just got to keep plugging away,” he added.
