Sudbury Rugby Club will rekindle their rivalry with Cantabrigian this weekend.
The Blues and their opponents battled it out for the London 3 North East title last season, with Sudbury going up as champions and the Cambridge-based side following them as runners-up.
But since arriving in the London 2 North East, the two clubs have faced differing fortunes.
Sudbury have settled comfortably into their new home, occupying third spot, with hopes of securing back-to-back promotions as they trail leaders Diss by just three points.
In contrast, Cantabrigian sit in ninth place in the 12-team division.
However, two of their three victories have come at Sedley Taylor Road - where the sides will lock horns this weekend.
And the Cantabs may also be buoyed by the fact they go into the contest on the back of a third victory, a 37-17 success at Campion.
Neither teams played at the weekend due to a blank in the fixture schedule.
However, the previous Saturday Sudbury got back to winning ways with a 31-7 home success against South Woodham Ferrers.
It was the perfect response after their five-match winning start to the campaign was ended by back-to-back defeats against table topping Diss and second-placed Saffron Walden.
Now they will be looking to follow on from last season’s double over Cantabrigian, where a 15-14 home success was followed up with a 34-28 victory on the road.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 2.15pm.
