Sudbury went behind in the first game as Dan Tatum (20.53 average) lost 3-2 to Trevor Pearse, but were level after Brett Claydon won a tight game in the deciding leg against Andy Mower, with a 24.17 average including a 180.
Sudbury moved ahead as John Attwater (16.57 ave) scrapped his way to a 3-1 win over Cliff Brown, before Gary Butcher increased Town’s lead with a 3-0 win over Robin Tilbrook – his 26.84 average securing him a third successive man-of-the-match award.
Martin Totman made it 4-1 with an assured performance, winning 3-0 against Sean Brown with a 23.12 average, but Darren Hadfield kept the match alive for Saxmundham, beating Sudbury’s Ross Theobald (17.07 ave) 3-0.
Ian Randles (25.47 ave) sealed the win for Sudbury with a neat 3-0 win, including a 180, over talented youngster Ryan Meikle.
