Winter is usually dominated by trials meetings, but Halstead and District Motorcycle Club motocross riders took part in the East Anglian Schoolboy Scrambling Club’s Pro Green Winter Series, at Mepal, Cambridgeshire.

With an entry of more than 200 riders for round one, Jason Morland and Glen
Bixby were among the
results.

Morland took fourth place overall from three races in the AMX Open Class, while Bixby took the overall win from his three races in the Veteran Class.

It has been a busy time for the club’s membership secretary, Liz Weavers, with many riders returning to the club for the 2015 season,Expert rider, Lewis Tombs being one of them.

Tombs, from Bury St Edmunds, had a good season in 2014, taking top 10 places in the Maxxis British 250cc Championship Series and the MX National Series (MX2 Class).

Junior riders are also back with the club, including Tilbury-based John Hinz, who finished 14th in the Eastern Centre Junior Championships.
