Halstead had a good day at the Woodbridge and District Motorcycle Club motocross meeting at Blaxhall in both the Expert and Junior classes.
In the Experts, national rider Lewis Tombs was the most successful, with second place overall.
In Junior Group B, making his debut for the club was Joe Cornwell, who was third overall.
In Group C, Lawrence Gowers was second overall while in the NGR Over 40s, Vince Price and Scott Robertson were in overall positions.
A well-supported practice day — a prelude to the first meeting of Halstead and District Motorcycle Club’s season — was held at Little Loveney Hall, Wakes Colne, organised by the East Anglian Schoolboy Scrambling Club.
The third round of the Eastern Centre Solo MX Championships will be held on Sunday, April 20, first race 11am.
Admission will be £8 for adults, with concessions available for children.
Motorcycle dealer Jim Aim will be supporting the meeting, for which Halstead club are grateful.
Two Halstead Expert riders were involved in a charity day, held at Action Parks.
The event was held to raise funds for cancer research.
Chris Bastick and Lewis Tombs gave up their time to support the day.
n Sudbury Motorcycle Club are set to host the Dave Roper Memorial Trail Cross Enduro race to remember their late chairman on Sunday.
The race, which will take place at Tye Farm, Great Cornard (10am), will feature a strong line-up of 80 riders.
This is the fifth year the club have held it, following Dave Roper’s unexpected passing in 2009.
The riders will be divided into three groups, with the first heat a practise before the second heat determines who will go into the main event.
The Dave Roper Trophy will then be decided with the final riders, with a separate race for those that did not qualify.
