A number of Sudbury Storms swimmers booked their places at next year’s Suffolk Championships after obtaining the county qualifying times at Deben.
The weekend gala was successful for 14-year-old Laurence Chalk, who won the freestyle with a finals time of 26.80 seconds, adding to first place in the 50-metre butterfly (29.20secs) and 100m butterfly (one minute 5.45 secs).
Orion Nicol achieved qualifying times in the 1,500m freestyle and 50m butterfly, while Georgie Hodgson got her first qualifying time of the season in the 100m freestyle.
Ella Rides achieved a county qualifying time for her age group with the 100m breaststroke and also achieved a regional time with her 50m breaststroke.
A special mention must go to Katie Chambers, who achieved her first county qualifying time in the 100m individual medley aged 10, with a time of 1.43.37.
With Redgi Keeble Bradford and Sophie Murray also obtaining qualifying times in the 200m freestyle, it is a promising start for Sudbury Storms, who will be looking to add to the team eligible to attend the county weekend.
