Hadleigh Dolphins’ Sophie Lander achieved a gold medal for her 50m backstroke at the January Last Chance Open Meet in a time of 43.95 seconds.
Other county times achieved by the nine-year-old in her age category at this meet were: 50m freestyle (41.58) and 200m backstroke three minutes (30.11).
Prior to this meet, she had already achieved a county time of 3.29.30 for her 200m freestyle.
Max Fraulo, aged 10, achieved a county time in his 50m freestyle with 39.02 and achieved a personal best (pb) in the 50m backstroke, achieving sixth place for his age group with a time of 46.25. His previous pb was 52.66.
Fraulo knocked 13 seconds off another pb to achieve sixth place in his age group.
Two of the club’s senior girls will qualify for the regionals. Lily Clarke, 16, achieved a time of 33.23 in the 50m backstroke, while Becca Mann, also 16, achieved swam 33.53 in the 50m backstroke.
