Halstead and District Motor Cycle Club Trials rider, Matthew Skeet, was among the results at the Suffolk Mardle Trial held at Bramford and organised by Ipswich MCC.

Riding in the Twinshock Class, Skeet claimed ninth place.

In round one of the Eastern Centre MX Championships, held at Mepal and organised by Littleport Club, Halstead riders were out in force.

Former champion, Chris Bastick, was the best placed in fifth overall on the day on a 450cc KTM machine with a race card of sixth, seventh and fourth.

Next best was Jason Morland, who finished seventh overall.

Having his first season as a Expert, Mark Sharman rode well but was unable to made a top 10 overall.

In the Junior Championship, two brilliant first and second race results were enough to give Harry Mills eighth overall.

Group B overall went to Tilbury’s John Hinz, with new member Ashley Campbell placed second overall.

The inaugural MX Nationals (round one) was held at Culham Moto Park. In the Fast 40 Class, Lewis Tombs claimed 13th place overall. In the series standing after one round (of eight), Tombs is in 13th place with 192 points.

Halstead Club’s first MX meeting will be held at Little Loveney Hall, Wakes Colne, on Easter Sunday, April 20, round three of the Eastern Centre MX Championships.
