Former Eastern Centre motocross champion Matt Skeet has had good results at trials meetings.

At a meeting held just after Christmas, Halstead’s Skeet rode at the Laurie Bird Memorial Trial, organised by Woodbridge and District Motorcycle Club at Butley.

The rider, sponsored by Braintree’s Fenn and Ridgeway, finished fourth in the Pre-Unit Class Hard Route, with 23 marks lost. Of the 12 sections, he had six clear.

Turning to motocross, Lewis Tombs has been selected to again contest the Maxxis British MX Championships.

Tombs, a MX2 Class rider, will be numbered 66 on a 250cc Jar Honda.

In addition to Side Cars in the new season for Halstead Motorcycle Club-hosted events, there will be a round of the NGR Championship and races for three groups: Over-30, over-40 and over-50.

The round of the NGR Championships will be held at the Eastern Centre.

Meetings will be organised by Woodbridge and DMCC (Blaxhall); Diss MCC (Wattisfield Hall); Chelmsford Auto Club (East Hanningfield); Norwich Viking (Lyng) and Littleport (Mildenhall).
