Halstead and District Motorcycle Club Trials rider Matthew Skeet continues to get good results at Eastern Centre meetings.

Skeet, riding at Spansey Wood, organised by Braintree and District Motorcycle Club — B Class Championship round one — took a good sixth place in the Twin Shock Class on an Ossa machine.

This was a hard route with 37 marks lost.

Littleport MCC has the honour of kickstarting the 2014 MX Championships at Mepal on Sunday.

Halstead club experts
Brad Tomlin and Jason Morland will want to replicate the form they both had last season.

Fast-starting Tomlin took third place in the points table, with Morland fourth.

In the Junior Championship, after being the best placed rider in the table in 2013, Mark Sharman is more than capable of taking a higher place this season.

Lewis Tombs will have a busy time riding a JAR IFS 250 Honda in the next few weeks.

The youngster will be at Culham Park (Oxford) for the first round of the MX National Championships on Sunday.

Round two of the Maxxis British MX Championship comes to Cadders Hill.

This is the Lyng meeting, which is organised by Norwich Viking MCC, on Sunday, April 6.
