THRILLS and spills aplenty are set to bring the season to a close at Wakes Colne on Sunday when the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championship comes to town.

Weather permitting, Halstead and District Motorcycle Club will host round six of the championships at the weekend in the grand finale to the track’s season.

The meeting is a prestigious one for the club, with it being the penultimate round of the sidecarcross season with 26 of the country’s top sidecar crews set to race.

Out in front at the top of the leaderboard, with a 42-point gap over second-placed Richard Jenkins and Dan Chamberlain are the pairing of Stuart Brown and Josh Camberlain.

A further 21 points behind are Brett Wilkinson and Ross Parmenter, who in turn are just three points in front of the overall winners at the last round, Daniel and Joe Millard.

As well as the three sidecar races, solo supporting races include classes for the NGR Championship and Richard Fitch Trophy.

Practice starts at 10am, with the first race due to get under way at 11am. Admission for adults is £10 with a reduced rate for concessions.
