MORE than 60 youngsters have been developing their ball skills on a Northampton Saints three-day coaching course at Sudbury Rugby Club this week.

Players, mainly from Sudbury, Colchester and Ipswich clubs, have been put through an array of drills to help them work on a number of areas of their game under professional guidance ahead of the new season.

Ross Stewart, a community officer for Premiership club Northampton Saints, who led the course which began on Tuesday, said: “They have been doing really well and it has been really hot so it has been long days. We have some very talented rugby players in the area.”

The training workshop culminated in a kick, run and pass challenge yesterday, which included an assault course.
