Sudbury Rugby Club sealed an all important home tie for their upcoming play-off tie with Hammersmith and Fulham by overcoming Rochford Hundred in an emphatic 47-15 success on Saturday.

The victory, in their final regular game of the season, gifts Graham Richards’ charges the home advantage for Saturday’s encounter against their London-based opponents for a place in London One North.

Elsewhere, league rivals Diss, who missed out on a play-off spot to Sudbury, ended the season with a little renewed joy after clinching a comfortable 34-3 success over Ipswich.

Meanwhile, in London Two Three North East, Stowmarket slipped to a narrow 30-27 loss away at May and Baker, while in Greene King Eastern Counties League Division One, Newmarket beat Thetford in a 28-17 win and Thurston settled for a share of the spoils with visiting Ipswich YM after playing out a 22-22 draw.
