Many Halstead and District Motorcycle Club motocross riders who were with the club last season have rejoined for 2014.

Among these are Lewis Tombs, who scored points in the World 250cc Championships and in almost all of the domestic championships, the one exception being the Bickers Lifting Eastern Centre Championships, when dates of national meetings clashed.

Riding again for 2014 is Tilbury veteran John Hinz, who featured in the results in the NGR Championships and EASSC meetings.

Two long-standing riders also back are Jon Russell and Adrian Salmon — the latter first came on the scene in 1981.

Returning trial riders are Matt Skeet and Sam Peck, who only started riding trials last year.

The first date of four meetings scheduled for Wakes Colne 2014, is the Eastern Centre Solo Championships (round three) on April 20.

At the EASSC Winter Championships (round two) held at Mepal, in Cambridgeshire, the Vets class was dominated by Hinz, who took three straight wins.

In the AMX Open class, Jason Morland took fourth place overall.

In the Ipswich Triangle MCC Trial, held on Boxing Day at Raydon, Sam Peck took fourth place in the Novice class, riding a 280cc Gas Gas machine.
